A few years ago, a friend of mine suggested that I make a radio show with a silver metal box of records that he had rescued, after they had been dumped in a street in Hanover, Brighton as part of a house move. The box contained a scratched up, damaged and dirty set of soul, disco and jazz-funk 12″ singles and LPs from 1978 – 1982, once belonging to Karen. I gave them a clean up, and created a few mixtapes from the collection, editing around some of the damaged and dated sections. This transmission is a mix of excerpts from the Silver Box collection, with lots of familiar tunes and re-edits. Thanks to Gary Barber for the inspiration, and Debbie and Karen (whoever you are) for making this happen.
