Currently Off Air is a mixtape of overlooked, under appreciated, and rediscovered sounds. Over the last 15 years, it has been a space for a range of transmissions from audio experiments to themed music shows, occasionally true stories, spoken word, comedy, cut-ups and soap operas in space. A current long-term project is a deep dive into the world of Electro Funk 1982 – 1986: a time of B-Boys and B-Girls, Fresh MCs, Graffiti artists, DJs cutting and scratching on the wheels of steel, Pirate Radio, cassette mixtapes, Streetsounds Electro compilations, extended dub versions, 808 and DMX Drum machines, when Hip hop was the culture and Electro was the music.
New transmissions air on the first Sunday of the month at 11pm-midnight on Radio Reverb 97.2FM in Brighton, UK, streaming live on www.radioreverb.com.
Following the initial Sunday broadcast, the show is repeated throughout the rest of the month. Check the Transmissions page for dates.
